Miller and Carter Vegan Options

Miller and Carter vegan options: a plant based main course served on a white plate at a restaurant table

Miller and Carter Vegan Options

Miller and Carter vegan options are clearly marked on the menu with a (VE) symbol, and there is enough choice to put together a full meal without meat or dairy. The current main menu includes vegan starters, a plant based burger, a vegan salad, a spread of vegan sides and a vegan dessert. This guide lists every (VE) dish we could verify on the official menu, with prices, so you know exactly what to order before you book.

The Grill Guide is an independent information website and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Miller & Carter. Menus, prices and offers vary by restaurant and change over time, so please confirm current details with the restaurant before ordering or booking.

Prices come from the official Miller & Carter main menu. The signature sides carry an any 3 for £12 offer, which includes the (VE) sides above, so mixing and matching can bring the per dish cost down. If you are comparing against the wider offering, our full Miller and Carter menu and prices guide covers the steaks, grills and everything else.

What the (VE) symbol actually means

On the official menu, (V) means made with vegetarian ingredients and (VE) means made with vegan ingredients. Miller & Carter adds an honest caveat worth reading: some of its preparation, cooking and serving methods could affect this, so ask your server if you need more information before ordering.

The menu also points diners to its allergen guide, which lives in the food section of the official website and on the Glass Onion app. You can filter dishes by the 14 major allergens there, which is the most reliable way to check a specific dish if you have an allergy or intolerance. Food is prepared in shared areas where cross contamination may occur, and menu descriptions do not list every ingredient, so for anything beyond a preference, speak to the team on the day.

Putting together a vegan three course meal

The vegan dishes work well as a proper three course dinner on their own. A simple example, using verified prices:

  • Starter: spiced cauliflower wings for one, £4.75
  • Main: Crown Prince Squash Warm Salad, £15.25
  • Dessert: Caramel Biscuit Torte, £8.25

That comes to £28.25 before drinks. Alternatively, the Sunshine Plant Burger with seasoned fries makes a filling main, and you can round it out with a couple of the (VE) sides under the any 3 for £12 offer. If your table is a mix of diets, the Miller and Carter T Bone steak and the rest of the steak lineup keep the meat eaters happy while you order from the list above.

A note on older menus and outdated guides

Some older guides still describe a plant based burger topped with smashed avocado and Violife cheese. The current official menu instead offers the Sunshine Plant Burger, made with a plant based grilled burger patty, avocado and a melting smoked Applewood slice. If a guide you are reading mentions Violife, it is describing an older menu, so check the current one before you visit.

Before you book: three things worth knowing

First, menus and prices vary by restaurant and change over time. The dishes listed here come from the current main menu, but seasonal and occasion menus can look quite different. Our Miller and Carter Christmas Day menu guide is a good example of how far the offering can shift for a special date.

Second, mention your dietary needs when you book and again to your server on arrival. Miller & Carter says its team is happy to help with dietary requirements, and that is also the moment to confirm allergen details for your dishes.

Third, plan the rest of the evening too. Check the Miller and Carter dress code so you pitch your outfit right, look at Miller and Carter voucher deals for ways to bring the bill down, and if children are coming, the Miller and Carter kids menu is worth a look alongside this guide.

Miller and Carter vegan options: frequently asked questions

Does Miller and Carter have a vegan main course?

Yes. The Sunshine Plant Burger is the dedicated vegan centrepiece on the main menu, served with your choice of seasoned fries or heritage tomato and rocket salad. The Crown Prince Squash Warm Salad is a substantial vegan salad that works as a main in its own right.

Are there vegan desserts at Miller and Carter?

Yes. The Caramel Biscuit Torte is marked (VE) on the dessert menu at £8.25. Raspberry and coconut sorbets are also marked (VE) and are served as part of the ice cream and sorbet three scoop selection.

Is the (VE) symbol a guarantee that a dish is vegan?

Not entirely. Miller & Carter states that (VE) means made with vegan ingredients, but adds that preparation, cooking and serving methods could affect this. If it matters to you, ask your server and check the official allergen guide before ordering.

Do the vegan options appear on the lunch and set menus?

That depends on the restaurant and the current menu rotation. The Miller and Carter lunch menu and the Miller and Carter set menu change more often than the main menu, so check the latest versions or ask the restaurant directly. The Miller and Carter breakfast menu is a separate offering again.

What if my group wants a different steakhouse?
